My external hard drive is not readable or the file becomes corrupted. What can I do to recover my data?
I think that last night someone take my external hard drive my lap top without turning off safe mode. The light still blinks and moves as normal disk. The drive icon is detectable. But it can be opened with Message: Is not accessible. "The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable". Please someone can help me recover my data there?
Download Ubuntu 9.04, make a CD from the image file and insert it into the drive. Starting as a live CD, then connect the drive, it should be recognized as an external drive, allowing you to copy files to your hard drive.
